As the youngest major label country artist signed in the genre in nearly two decades, Mason Ramsey continues his fast track to stardom as he has already delivered three acclaimed EPs, earned a gold-certified single, headlined two tours in addition to supporting a Las Vegas residency, and has amassed more than 450 million global streams to date.

Ramsey’s new music illustrates how far he’s come after being discovered singing in an aisle at his local Walmart. The differences prove instantly apparent as his voice boasts the kind of confidence only gained through experience and his songwriting brims with unfiltered truth buoyed by intimate creativity. Ramsey debuted his transformed vocals in his latest offering Blue Over You, which amassed nearly 5 million streams within the first two weeks of its release (the song now has more than 16 million streams on Spotify alone). The single also pays tribute to his love of classic country inspired by Elvis, Hank Williams, Jim Croce, Roy Orbison and was highly praised as a “well-written and well-produced tune” by Anthony Fantano’s The Needle Drop.

Blue Over You is just the tip of the iceberg, offering a small glimpse into Ramsey’s debut album, I’ll See You In My Dreams. The collection of 14 songs, including drifting lovesick ballad Come Pick Me Up At The End Of The Night, further instills Ramsey’s growth and maturity (in both life and song) while giving listeners a true understanding of who he is as an artist. Having co-written every tune, Ramsey intimately portrays the feelings he’s experienced from his upbringing on, inviting fans to understand him on a deeper level. In short, I’ll See You In My Dreams is a true coming-of-age album.

Mason was praised by The New York Times for delivering “stylistically diverse country and roots music” with his debut EP Famous, which spawned a hit single of the same name and scored a No. 4 spot on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs Chart. In addition to making his debut at the famed Grand Ole Opry, the Golconda, Illinois-bred phenom has also performed at several high-profile festivals including CMA Fest, Coachella, iHeart Country Festival, and Stagecoach. Lane Moore & It Was Romance

LANE MOORE + IT WAS ROMANCE is an indie pop band founded by musician, comedian, and author Lane Moore. The band’s self-titled debut album garnered praise for being the “Best Band Of The Year” by BUST Magazine, Billboard calling them a “band you should know” and Village Voice describing their music as “Moore’s velvety vocal delivery [evoking] feelings of loneliness with a danceable beat, sauntering around like the life of the party, occasionally winking just to make sure you’re hooked.” Paste Magazine praised the band’s “catchy, blast loud and sing-proud thoughtfulness [that] walks multiple genres with a deft grace.”

Pitchfork named their self-titled album one of the records to watch. Paste Magazine described the band as “Hearkening back to a Dig Me Out era Sleater Kinney, Moore’s expansive sound covers love and all its mishaps with a catchy, blast loud and sing proud thoughtfulness. Blending garage rock with soul and experimental undertones, It Was Romance, walks multiple genres with a deft grace to mirror Moore’s bubbly wit and eye-catching presence.” The album was praised by Vogue, Entertainment Weekly, Billboard, VICE, The Huffington Post, The Guardian, New York Magazine, BUST Magazine, Refinery 29, The Onion‘s AV Club, and many others. Billboard named Lane Moore and It Was Romance one of 16 Female-Fronted Bands You Should Know.

deSoL

In January 2001 deSoL was officially formed. Located in Asbury Park N.J. the band was able to start touring extensively on the east coast, working their trade. Their early years spent touring earned them a record deal where they signed with Curb Records. deSoL quickly became a main stay in large tours as a supporting act, including an opening slot for REM at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City. deSoL supported many acts including Blues Traveler, Los Lonely Boys, Ozomatli, Cypress Hill, Arrested Development and Widespread Panic. In 2005, deSoL toured extensively with the Legendary Wailers, playing to sold-out venues six nights a week for four months. This allowed the band to perfect its stage show and to gain national and international exposure. The band performed at all of the major festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, All Good, South by Southwest, Langerado and Nashville River Stages.

During the latter half of 2006, the group embarked on an Armed Forces Entertainment tour. The group visited military bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Djibouti, performing for American service personnel

deSoL released four albums during their career. The group received radio air play for their songs “Karma”, “Blanco y Negro”, “Sing it All Night” and “On My Way”. In addition, deSoL got into the top 3 in the charts with their version of the Christmas song “Little Drummer Boy”. The song continues to receive air play each December.

After years of personal change, the core group decided to step back for a few years enjoy life and explore personal interests, but as the sun always rises, so does deSoL.

SHALLOW ALCOVE
with Lighthearted

Shallow Alcove is a band of friends fronted by Grace Krichbaum and Dan Harris, with Peter Groppe, Jack Harrington, and Noah Dadaris. They combine stacked vocal harmonies, catchy guitar riffs, and diary-like lyrics to form a tender soundtrack to young adulthood. Shallow Alcove’s music is based in their love of DIY folk music and colored with narratives of friendship, the changing of the seasons, bad haircuts, and the ache of growing up. What started as friends writing songs in the bedrooms and basements of Upstate New York has since shifted to the apartments and studios of New York City and Philadelphia, but Shallow Alcove’s roots have remained the same: story-telling with the people they love.

One of Us 2025 Tour

On a magical night at Nectar’s in Burlington, Vermont in December of 2018, three musical masters—Russ Lawton, Scott Metzger and Ray Paczkowski—came together with alchemical synthesis, and created a fresh, so-tight-it’s-free sound, permeated with technical prowess and a deep-pocket punch. The packed house fortunate enough to be in attendance that night witnessed the birth of something very special. The following spring, the trio took the name LaMP by combining the first letters of each members’ surname, and reconvened back in Vermont at Sugarhouse Soundworks for an intense recording session with sound engineer Roger Stauss laying down tracks that would become their eponymous debut EP.

Metzger, described by The Village Voice as “…an ace guitarist of a thousand styles,” and a full-time member of the beloved Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, tested the decades-strong synergy between Lawton and Paczkowski forged from their time playing with Trey Anastasio Band and their duo project Soule Monde. It resulted in seven tracks crackling with energy and soul. The melodic and harmonic interplay between Paczkowski’s swirling organ and clavinet dancing with Metzger’s acrobatic melodies on telecaster, driven by Lawton’s unflappable backbeat, produced a record that will stand the test of time. Ever since—as the three members busy schedules have allowed—LaMP has prioritized bringing the music to the people with shows across the East Coast. As word has spread and the crowds have grown with each subsequent tour, it’s become clear that LaMP will be a musical force to be reckoned with for the foreseeable future.

JOEY HARKUM

For his entire life Joey Harkum has been strumming a guitar and after a decade of touring as the lead singer and songwriter of Baltimore-based band Pasadena, he released his debut solo album, Love and Labor, to critical acclaim in 2016. Along with a relentless touring schedule Joey has most recently been working on his 4th studio album The Art of Revenge which released March 1st 2024. The album saw a cross country tour to support the release in March & April of 2024.
Known for his deep and poignant lyrics telling stories of joy, love, loss and sadness, Joey brings the human experience to life through his relentless tour schedule that culminated in the release of Live at Buffalo Iron Works in 2018. 2020 brought new challenges but Joey responded with writing and recording new music and released his album Storyboard in March of 2021. Immediately following the release of Storyboard, he started work on his follow up album Salt and Tar which was released in spring 2022.

Spyne! is an American rock band formed in New Jersey in 2021. The band includes frontman and rhythm guitarist Kyle Moyer, drummer Eric Muhler, his brother and lead guitarist Liam Muhler, and bassist Toni Manousos. The band draws their influences from across the spectrum of rock, specifically focusing on the era between the 90’s and 2000’s. The band has just released their debut album, “Out of Nowhere” in December, and will be playing it in full, as well as having a limited vinyl pressing for sale day of the show.

Annie DiRusso is a Nashville-based indie rock artist born in NYC, who wears the influence of both of these cities on her sleeve. Blending buzzing garage rock guitars and high-energy performances with a pop infused flair, the magic she creates in her hooks and melodies is apparent in her previously released singles and debut EP. She has quickly turned casual listeners into hardcore fans with V Magazine noting she’s “single handedly bringing back that raging rock sound” and Alt Press stating, “she’s set to skyrocket.”

Annie has made quite a mark on the touring world since the launch of her career amidst the pandemic, supporting artists like HAIM, Samia, Declan McKenna, beabadoobee, Djo, Peach Pit and more as well as selling out headline shows at venues such as New York’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, Nashville’s Basement East and Boston’s The Sinclair. In Nylon’s words, “she continues to put out some of the most catchy indie rock in the game.”

Latewaves

Hailing from Asbury Park, New Jersey, Latewaves is a dynamic rock trio formed in 2016 by guitarist and vocalist Mike Pellegrino, drummer Shawna Grabowski, and bassist Howie Cohen. Drawing inspiration from the 1990s grunge scene and early 2000s punk, their music combines energetic riffs with introspective lyrics addressing themes of mental health and personal growth. Their latest self-titled album, released on September 29, 2023, showcases their evolution as artists, offering listeners a raw and authentic rock experience.

Earth Telephone

Earth Telephone, hailing from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is an indie rock quartet comprising Chris Diehm (vocals/guitar), Eric James Guy Friedman (guitar/backing vocals), Allegra Anka (bass), and Biff Swenson (drums). Formed in 2017, the band delves into themes of loss and personal introspection, blending energetic rhythms with emotive lyrics. This will be their first set of shows in nearly 3 years.

The Superweaks

The Superweaks, a dynamic rock band hailing from Philadelphia, was formed by the talented duo of Evan Bernard and Chris Baglivo. Their music masterfully blends energetic guitar riffs with catchy melodies, drawing inspiration from influences like Weezer and Thin Lizzy. Their 2015 debut album, “Bad Year,” released under Lame-O Records, led them to tour alongside notable acts such as Brand New, The Get Up Kids, Modern Baseball, and Joyce Manor. In 2016, they released “Better Heavens,” an album dedicated to bassist Corey Bernard, who tragically passed away that year. Continuing their creative journey, The Superweaks introduced “Teenage Blob” in 2020, accompanied by a video game of the same name, further showcasing their innovative approach to music and multimedia.

Gripper is a new Philadelphia based project featuring current and past members of Latewaves, Nylon, Ballistix, etc.

THE BONGOS
Reunion and CD Release Show

THE BONGOS, founders of the Hoboken music scene of the 1980s, return to the stage with all original members — Richard Barone, James Mastro, Rob Norris, and Frank Giannini — to celebrate their new album release, ’The Shroud of Touring: Live in 1985,’ on JEM Records. Originally recorded on the Jersey Shore during the steamy Memorial Day weekend of 1985, the album has remained unreleased until now, the 40th anniversary of the performance, and captures the band’s legendary energy at the peak of its power.

With their unique, highly percussive musical style, the Bongos were college radio favorites and made the leap to national recognition with the advent of MTV. Their breakthrough song “Numbers with Wings” garnered the group a major cult following and a nomination at the first MTV Video Music Awards. Along with a handful of others, the Bongos were instrumental in the advancement of the alternative rock movement. Copies of the new CD will be available.

Dark City Strings

Mountain Grass Unit, from Birmingham, Alabama, is a young quartet redefining bluegrass with a fresh narrative. Comprised of Drury Anderson (mandolin, vocals), Luke Black (guitar, vocals), Josiah Nelson (fiddle, vocals), and Sam Wilson (bass, vocals), they blend tradition with bold exploration. Their journey began with a shared musical passion, forming a sound that merges bluegrass with country, jazz, funk, rock, and metal influences. Their debut EP, “Runnin’ From Trouble,” released in 2024, showcases their original music and inventive covers, inspired by legends like Tony Rice and Billy Strings.

Recorded at Nashville’s Hartland Studios, and produced by Mike Harris (Old Crow Medicine Show), the EP captures their live energy. The leading single, “Hey Mama,” explores life’s transitions with inquisitive lyrics, while “Cicada Song” and “Smugglin'” highlight their funk and traditional sides.

2024 marked a turning point with performances at Renewal, DelFest and WinterWondergrass, broadening their audience and deepening their musical exploration. With plans for extensive touring, festival sets, and new music, Mountain Grass Unit is ready to share their luminous sound with the world, each performance a new chapter in their unfolding story.

Born from a bi-coastal clash of energies somewhere between the colorful vibrations of a Ken Kesey acid test and the electric atmosphere of a 1970s new years eve at Studio 54, ISTA, is a riff charged, groove-infused, harmony bedazzled psychedelic love bomb, exploding, In Sound To All. The band blurs lines between a multitude of genres from rock to funk to disco, electronic and punk, ultimately coalescing into something fresh, modern and simultaneously timeless. Originally initiated in 2019, by west coast transplants, Rex Costello and Oliver Hart, the two found themselves in Brooklyn New York, combining forces in the studio with producer Sam Cohen. The outfit quickly grew into what is now its 7-piece formation including Evan Eubanks, Diona West, Theadora Curtis, Chloe Golding and Ryan Lee.

Their debut album, recorded with Sam Cohen as co-producer, engineer, bassist, accompanying instrumentalist and mix engineer, was tracked at Jupiter Recording in
Brooklyn, NY and Slow Fawn, Sam’s upstate studio in Accord, NY. The self-titled double vinyl LP blends the worlds of neo-psychedelic harmony drenched high energy rock & roll swagger with funky sub-synth fueled disco beats that echo a collage of angular art punk sensibility uniting as a confluence of both classic and modern influence.

Working again with Cohen as producer, ISTA are finishing up their sophomore album for release later this year. The first singles, “Megawatt” and “Aim for the Heart” are out now.

Eggy formed from a high school dream into a full-fledged reality. Aligning together in 2016, the lineup of Alex Bailey (drums, vocals), Jake Brownstein (guitar, vocals), Mike Goodman (bass, vocals) and Dani Battat (keys, vocals) has captured the ears of listeners across the USA and beyond.

Following the release of their 2019 debut record, Watercolor Days, the band has toured constantly, performing in over 40 states. Amidst their travels in 2021, Eggy stopped in Nashville to record two singles, released as Nashville Tapes the following year. Highlights from the band’s many eclectic shows have been handpicked by the band for consumption, including the most recent “Eggy Selects: Spring Tour 2023, Vol. 1).

Eggy’s upcoming record, “Waiting Game,” is set to arrive on September 6, 2024. Three singles (“A Moment’s Notice”, “Laurel” and “Gentle Clown”) have been released thus far. Co-produced by White Denim’s James Petralli, “Waiting Game” showcases the band’s artistry through a concentrated and refined studio approach as a compliment to their exploratory live shows.

LA LOM

In the vibrant tapestry of Los Angeles’s music scene, LA LOM stands out for its ability to seamlessly weave together the diverse genres and cultures of the city into its music. Short for The Los Angeles League of Musicians, LA LOM is composed of LA natives Zac Sokolow (guitar), Jake Faulkner (bass), and Nicholas Baker (drums/percussion).

The roots of LA LOM reach back to 2019, when the band was assembled to play five nights a week in the lobby of the historic Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. Initially tasked with providing background music for hotel patrons, tourists, and passersby off the street, LA LOM soon began experimenting with a genre-transcending repertoire that reflects the diverse musical diaspora of Angelenos.

LA LOM started out reimagining instrumental renditions of the soulful ballads from the 1950s and ’60s that they grew up listening to on LA’s oldies station, K-EARTH 101, evoking the laid-back aesthetic that defines the region, and drawing inspiration from luminaries like Smokey Robinson, Aaron Neville, and Brenda and the Tabulations.

Their sonic palette expanded to encompass the romantic allure of classic Mexican Boleros and the Cumbia Sonidera woven into the very fabric of the city’s soundscape, resonating through the streets from car stereos, backyard parties, and lively dance halls. LA LOM carved out a sound that blends all of these elements with the guitar-driven twang of Peruvian Chicha and Bakersfield Country.

Zac Sokolow’s musical lineage spans generations. He began his creative journey performing alongside his father, a respected figure in LA’s bluegrass community, whose family relocated from Buenos Aires to LA in the 1930s. Jake Faulkner comes from a family of Venice artists and met Zac at age 16. Zac and Jake honed their craft through years of collaboration in various bands within Southern California’s vibrant Rockabilly scene before eventually joining to form LA LOM. Nicholas Baker was steeped in Latin music from childhood by his grandmother, who hailed from a musical family in Durango, Mexico, and gained fame as a DJ on a Spanish-language radio station in Tucson, Arizona. He studied Latin percussion with renowned Nuyorican bassist and percussionist Roberto Miranda.

LA LOM have quickly ascended to playing to thousands of people and have captured the attention of Beck, Vampire Weekend and Zane Lowe.

Steve Marion, the critically acclaimed–and completely wordless–songwriter and guitarist known as Delicate Steve, has unveiled a new album called Delicate Steve Sings. Is the album title a reference to the instantly recognizable “voice” of his guitar? Does he actually sing this time? Has he not been singing all along? That’s the crux of Sings—Marion is the rare guitarist where you can put on any of his records and know exactly who’s playing. In an indie rock landscape stuffed end-to-end with guitars and amplifiers, nobody else sounds like this.

That unique voice has kept Steve busy in an unpredictable variety of settings. The sheer spread of his work outside his own records—collaborating with Miley Cyrus and Paul Simon, playing in Amen Dunes and the Black Keys, and being sampled by Kanye—doesn’t mean Steve’s a chameleon. It means he’s singular.

One night while on a trip to Greece, Marion looked out over the sea while listening to Willie Nelson’s pop standards record Stardust, a cosmic epiphany washing over him about what his next record could be. Delicate Steve Sings is a record centered on channeling iconic voices with his guitar. In doing so, Marion is casting himself in the role of iconic singers like Willie who make standards their own. In the process, he reveals just how singular (dare we say iconic) that voice is. The guitar sings these songs—smoothly, sweetly, boldly, and on its own terms.

Recorded with Jonathan Rado on bass, Kosta Galanopolous on drums, Renata Zeiguer providing strings, and co-writer Elliot Bergman, you can hear this team of exceptional musicians approach the album with the same smooth reverence you’d hear on something like Willie’s classic. Still, there’s a requisite subversiveness to what Marion’s doing here—this isn’t a full-on standards album. He’s got original songs with titles that suggest they might be new recordings of classics. “I’ll Be There” is smooth like a lost Bill Withers track; “Easy for You” isn’t the Elvis song of the same name, but there’s a hint of the king in there all the same.

From the record’s opening track, the mood of Delicate Steve Sings is immediately defined by the distinctive voice of Marion’s guitar. Going back to the feel of a classic and the writing of an original, “Cherry” settles into a similar vibe as Al Green’s Call Me, vocals and all. As the second track, his take on the Emersons’ “Baby” solidifies his guitar-as-voice approach by offering his own wordless “yes oh baby.” It’s a faithful rendition, cooing background vocals and all, but the voice—that guitar tone—is definitively Steve’s. For Steve, its inclusion bolstered his goal with the album: feeling over thinking. “Artists are very much overthinkers, just by trade,” he says. “But currently, everything is so totally overthought. So really, I was just resonating with these songs a lot and trying to avoid overthinking. I was listening to ‘Baby’ a lot, and that was it: I was just feeling it.”

As the album rolls on, he sprinkles in two more classics: The Beatles’ “Yesterday” and Otis Redding’s “These Arms of Mine.” Just as his overall aesthetic nods to the crooners, his cover of “Yesterday” was more inspired by Sinatra’s version than McCartney’s; Marion’s positioning himself, wryly, as an icon putting his signature on a song embedded into nearly every brain on the planet. “You’re tapping into something universal and in the consciousness of pop music,” Steve says—tacit permission for his guitar to drift into vocal expressions he’s internalized through years of close, repeated listening. Just like all the great singers.

Their unconventional sound and techniques, utilizing found objects like traffic cones, landed them appearances on NPR’s Tiny Desk in America, Later with Jools Holland in the UK, Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year in
Australia, and private audiences with the Premier League’s Chelsea F.C.

BASIC

BASIC, a mind-meld between Chris Forsyth, his frequent running partner Douglas McCombs, and Mikel Patrick Avery, present complex and entrancing instrumental music, recasting forgotten scraps of guitar history into a moving mosaic of strings, skins and electronics.

Back in the mid ’80s (a moment in music history as remote to us now as bebop was to us back then), there was an entire sub-genre spawned by prog-rock-gone-new-wave icons meeting up to make sounds, their names reading like a panoply of druggy law firms: Manzanera & Bruford, Fripp & Summers, French/Frith/Kaiser/Thompson. Their records clogged pre-internet college radio playlists, cut-out bins and public library shelves, but served as a touchstone for heads seeking inspiration from deeper wells than FM rock radio (which was fixated, then as now, on the Eagles and Led Zeppelin). Far from being mere self-indulgences, these “side projects” were, at best, outlets for exploration of then-novel technologies (looping, drum programming, sampling, etc.) for creators otherwise stuck in ’70s projects moribund with fan expectations and music-biz balance sheets.

One such record is guitarist Robert Quine and drummer Fred Maher’s Basic, an arachnidian weave of subtly shifting rhythm tracks and chiming guitar that, true to its name, was left largely untouched by Quine’s celebrated McLaughlin-through-a-cheese grater solos (a trait that did not please many critics at the time). Quine’s untimely passing has since awakened many to the joys hidden within his scant solo discography, but more expansive ears were already tuned in, including a few guitarists hungry for sounds outside of the second-hand pentatonic canon—among them, Chris Forsyth and original (now departed) BASIC member Nick Millevoi.

According to Forsyth, “I’ve loved that record for 20-plus years and hardly ever met anyone that liked it. To me, that is an incredibly personal, beautiful, one-of-a-kind record.”

Forsyth and Millevoi’s mutual love of Basic ran deep enough for the album to serve as a template for a run of low-key pandemic jam sessions (when Forsyth’s Solar Motel Band was sidelined from touring). Using an Alesis drum machine for rhythm tracks, they forged a collaborative language from angular polyrhythms, pulsing baritone-guitar lines, and shimmering chorus-pedal washes (another stylistic nod, this time to the glistening post-punk of the Durutti Column and numerous 4AD bands).

After playing as a duo for a brief time, the music demanded further complexity within the sonic substrate. Natural Information Society core member Mikel Patrick Avery was enlisted on drum kit—a setup that quickly morphed into a single drum, bell, and a bespoke electronics rig of his own creation. Upon the release of This Is BASIC in September 2024, Nick departed the group and Tortoise co-founder Douglas McCombs joined in his place on Fender Bass VI. The trio quickly flowered into an improvisational swirl of disorienting electronics, hypnotic throb, and dense flanged-guitar harmonics: three unique voices spinning a complex conversation of textures and rhythms.

The name of the nascent trio was, of course, obvious: BASIC, capitalized to distinguish themselves from the inspirational Quine/Maher text, and to introduce connotations with another ’80s trope, the obsolete programming language some of us learned back when you learned such things. BASIC, more importantly, denotes returning to one’s roots—in this case, Philly living room jams tangential to bands, arrangements, and songs; loved LPs lost to history, but not to the minds conceiving the music. To end with Mikel: “There’s universality without sacrificing identity or integrity. The music allows space for different minds to live within it.” Which, after all, is the most basic offering music has for anyone.

Hailing from Rhode Island the band quickly adopted NJ as their second home while becoming one of the hottest East Coast circuit bands in the late 70’s. JCBBB frequented top Jersey Shore venues including The Fastlane, Big Mans West, Tony Mart’s and the Stone Pony. They burst on to the national scene in the 1980s, with the “Eddie and the Cruisers” Motion Picture Soundtrack (filmed at Tony Mart and Somers Point locations.) The hit single “On The Dark Side” held the #1 position on the Billboard Rock charts and the MTV video charts for five consecutive weeks. The album sold over 3 million copies and was certified triple Platinum by the RIAA. The fictional band Eddie and the Cruisers that they portrayed in the film Eddie and The Cruisers was ranked by Rolling Stone as one of the 25 Greatest Movie Rock Bands.

John Cafferty and the BBB is still revered by fans and critics alike as one of the “top live rock shows” out there today! Their shows are generally a good time Rock’N’Roll marathon loaded with the Cafferty hits, fan favorites, and plenty of R&B classics! Three founding members are driving the band into their 51st year: Gary Gramolini on lead guitar, Michael “Tunes” Antunes on saxophone, and John Cafferty vocals and guitar. CHALK DINOSAUR
Chalk Dinosaur (Pittsburgh, PA) features a fusion of electronic dance music, funk and psychedelic rock. It has distinctive melodic themes coupled with a heavy rhythm section and augmented with synthesizers and electronic textures. The live shows are characterized by high energy and emotional diversity.

Chalk Dinosaur was founded in 2008 as the artist project of Pittsburgh music producer John O’Hallaron and is known for its colorfully diverse and prolific songwriting. Over the years, Chalk Dinosaur has released 25 albums and EP’s, ranging from indie and surf rock to psychedelic rock, electronic dance music, funk, and jam. Some albums are instrumental and some are vocally centered. Some are solo recording projects, while others are collaborative albums featuring the full band.

Live performances take several forms. Chalk Dinosaur mainly performs as a duo and sometimes as a quartet with each form having a different repertoire. The 4-piece leans more funk and jam, and the duo leans more towards electronic dance. Both incorporate the foundation of funky grooves and distinctive melodies.

Members of the live band include John O’Hallaron (guitar, keys, vocals, electronics), Nick O’Hallaron (drums), Jon Henderson (guitar), and Michael Berger (bass).

UNDERGROUND SPRINGHOUSE
“More of the good, less of the bad.” That’s the motto upon which Underground Springhouse have built their sound and style. Exploring reggae, country, and funk influences within a rock ‘n roll context, Springhouse has crafted a genre-bending catalog that takes listeners from beaches to back roads with ear-worm hooks and head-bobbing grooves.

Their debut single, “Joyfell” (2018), has caught the ears of listeners around the country, galvanizing the band to become the touring and recording machine that they are today. Springhouse has since released a full-length album, “Underground Springhouse” (2021), and two EPs, “Tom Foolery” (2019) and “I Recall” (2023), as well as a number of one-off singles. Their most recent EP, “I Recall,” features five new songs and showcases the band’s honing of their songwriting craft. On certain tracks the group explores newer influences like bluegrass and Americana, while on others they expand on more familiar styles like reggae and funk. All the while, the band stays true to their motto and their sound by including sing-along choruses and dance-worthy rhythms across the EP.

The band’s consistent recording output and dedicated touring schedule have helped grow their audience from a college town phenomenon into a frenetic mass of music lovers, particularly in the Southeast and along the East Coast, where Springhouse has headlined such venues as Athens’ Georgia Theatre, DC’s 9:30 Club, Nashville’s Exit/In, Birmingham’s Avondale Brewing, New York’s Brooklyn Bowl, Asheville’s Salvage Station, and Atlanta’s Terminal West. Fans should expect the unexpected at a Springhouse concert as no two shows look the same. The band’s fondness for improvisation and segues, and use of mashups and surprise covers make each show a unique experience and keep fans coming back night after night.

Members Charlie Haas (guitar/vocals), Jackson Thompson (bass/vocals), Max Motley (keyboard/vocals) & Mitch Davidson (guitar/vocals) met in Athens, Georgia while students at the University of Georgia. SOMEWHERE TOUR

Kori Gardner is one of the best female singers in modern music (and husband Jason is also no slouch). Their style is iconic – the effortless way their voices harmonize and volley back and forth, the movements within the song, the way they move from upbeat to pastoral so fluidly
that you don’t perceive it happening. Their instruments and voices all move as one piece, inseparable. Through the years, the textures have become more intricate, deeper. They’ve begun throwing in the occasional trumpet or guitar, but it is still stunning how much they can do with just keyboards and drums. They move so far within the limitations of the two-piece format that you can’t even call it a limitation. It feels as natural as the standard rock-and-roll four-piece.

Mates garnered a rabid following beginning in 1998 and toured nearly non-stop for 15 years, performing all over the world including runs with NPR’s This American Life, The Postal Service, The Strokes, Jimmy Eat World, Santigold and Death Cab for Cutie. They’ve also been seen on David Letterman, Coachella, Lollapalooza, Conan O’Brien, and Yo Gabba Gabba. Mates’ have released 7 full length albums (on labels including Barsuk and Polyvinyl) while simultaneously starting a family of 3 daughters (!) who travelled the world with them on tour.

The Mates’ paused touring from 2019-2024 to “give their girls a bit of an anchor through their teenage years”, while continuing to write and explore to find their next musical phase. Then, in the summertime of 2024, they resumed full-on with a 17-date tour (in 17 days!). A new album will follow in 2025.

WILLIAM ELLIOTT WHITMORE

A man armed only with a banjo and a bass drum can be a formidable force, especially if his name is William Elliott Whitmore. With his powerful voice and honest approach, Whitmore comes from the land, growing up on a family farm in Lee County, Iowa. Still living on the same farm today, Whitmore has truly taken the time to discover where his center lies, and from that he will not be moved.

Whitmore has repeatedly carved his own path, honoring the longstanding tradition of folk music throughout his nearly 20 year career, while always allowing his blues, soul and punk rock influences to shine through. Getting his first break opening for his friend’s hardcore band with just a banjo in hand, he would discover bands like The Jesus Lizard, Bad Brains, Lungfish and Minutemen and soon learn to play his own brand of rural, roots music with that same DIY ethic.

William Elliott Whitmore has been back and forth across the United States and to cities around the world. He’s toured with such diverse acts as Frank Turner, Trampled By Turtles, Clutch and Chris Cornell to name a few. He’s appeared on some of the biggest stages around the world including Stagecoach Fest, Byron Bluesfest (Australia) and End of the Road Fest (UK). His willingness to take his show to any playing field has proved invaluable as he turned strangers to diehards with every performance.

THE WHEELAND BROTHERS – The Wheeland Brothers are two Southern California surfers who grew up where the concrete meets the sand. Their playful pursuit of life invites listeners to join in on the stoke, all the while blending infectious good-time-energy with peaceful introspection.

Their sound is a signature blend of surf rock, reggae, hip hop and acoustic pop.

The Wheeland Brothers have burst onto the national music scene with their album Pacific Vibration. They’ve become fan-favorites and mainstays on Sirius XM’s No Shoes Radio as well as Sirius XM’s Radio Margaritaville where their single “Song To The Sun” was the most played song of the summer 2022 on both stations and was added to coveted playlists on both Spotify and Amazon.

The band has performed with peers ranging from 311 and Slightly Stoopid to Donavon Frankenreiter and Michael Franti. They’ve also performed at Meeting Of The Minds, Tortuga Music Festival, Kaaboo Del Mar, and were personally picked by Kenny Chesney to play the Nashville kick off to his 2022 summer tour. As a headliner, they pack out venues from Coach House in SoCal to Guanabanas in Florida and Big Chill Beach Club in Delaware.

JOE GRUSHECKY & THE HOUSEROCKERS 

JOE GRUSHECKY is the epitome of a blue-collar roots-rock & roll singer, songwriter and guitar player. Born in the coal mining hills surrounding Pittsburgh, Pa., Joe has cut a path of devastatingly honest shows from Pittsburgh to Asbury Park and beyond. In the musical tradition of artists like Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, John Mellencamp, Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen, Grushecky has been making American blue-collar rock that draws from classic rock ‘n roll, Memphis soul, folk songs, electric blues plus a dash of punk since the late 1970’s. He has been produced by some of rock’s greatest artists: Steve Cropper, Mick Ronson, Ian Hunter, and Steve Van Zandt. Recordings such as “Have A Good Time But Get Out Alive”, the classic “American Babylon” (Produced and joined on the subsequent tour by Bruce Springsteen), “East Carson Street”, the stunning “Somewhere East of Eden”, and 2018’s “ More Yesterdays Than Tomorrows” just a sample of the over 20 recordings that present Joe’s very singular, “down home” take on “living, working, family, politics and loving” in America.

Joe and his music have certainly stood the test of time. Omnivore Records released “Houserocker,” a double disc career anthology as well as a new album, “Can’t Outrun A Memory” in 2024. The lead track ”This Is Who We Are” was named in the Top Ten Coolest Songs In The World for 2024 on the Little Steven’s underground Garage. “The Houserockers ensure that there’s been no lapse in terms of the fire and fury. That’s immediately evident on Can’t Outrun a Memory, an album that shows, even after 45 years, Grushecky and company’s overt determination to the cause remains as intent as ever,” writes Lee Zimmerman in The Alternate Root Magazine.

Bandits on the Run

BANDITS ON THE RUN are a musical trio comprised of Adrian Blake Enscoe, Sydney Shepherd, and Regina Strayhorn, known for their distinct combination of cello, guitar, accordion, and found-percussion with sophisticated three-part harmonies and rotating lead vocals. The Brooklyn-based outfit sprang from a chance encounter while busking in NYC’s bustling subways and burst onto the national stage in 2019 when their song, “Love in the Underground,” was featured on the NPR Tiny Desk Contest’s Top Shelf, with the esteemed tastemakers at the station proclaiming, “the band orchestrates a symphony of sound and story through its impressive musicianship and marvelous harmonies.” After recording their 2021 EP, Now Is The Time, with producer Ryan Hadlock (Brandi Carlile, The Lumineers), the Bandits took to the screen, devising a short musical film, Band At The End Of The World, commissioned by Prospect Musicals. Since then, they have continued to explore the nexus of indie-folk music and theatrical storytelling, composing music for the Netflix animated series, Storybots, scoring the movie, The Same Storm, adapting several songs from texts by William Shakespeare for a production of As You Like It, and receiving an NEA grant for a new musical with Prospect Musicals, all the while touring the globe with appearances at the Cambridge Folk Festival, Floydfest, Summerfest Milwaukee, Americanafest, F1 Singapore Grand Prix, Mile of Music, and the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival. Bandits on the Run are currently working on the stage musical adaptation of the novel What’s Eating Gilbert Grape in association with MCC Theater, alongside actor-musician Christopher Sears and Academy Award Nominee Peter Hedges, who wrote the original book and screenplay.

THE MOTET

Forming over two decades ago, the funk six-piece The Motet have learned to work as an interlocking unit, with each member bolstering one another towards the best creative output. This symbiosis has led to a unique style and cohesive musical chemistry, as seen in the band’s immaculate live performances and seamless blend of funk, soul, jazz, and rock. With a fervent fanbase in tow, The Motet have sold out shows across the nation, performed six headlining slots at Red Rocks and sets at festivals such as Bonnaroo, Bottlerock, Electric Forest, Bumbershoot, Summer Camp, and High Sierra.

But even after their 20+ years of accolades and recognition, the legendary outfit composed of Dave Watts (drums), Joey Porter (keys), Garrett Sayers (bass), Drew Sayers (keys and saxophone), Ryan Jalbert (guitar) and singer Sarah Clarke are still exploring new sonic ideas and finding new ways to showcase each other’s skill sets.

Formed in 1994, Phantom Planet is a Los Angeles band that has released five albums of melodic, energetic Alt Rock. Helping to define the early ’00s music landscape, they’re best known for writing anthemic hits like “California,” (theme of the TV series The O.C.) and their wildly exciting live shows with deep fan engagement. The band has entertained the masses through a combination of stellar musicianship & compelling song writing which now spans over 30 years.

After a hiatus in 2008, the band reunited in 2019, continuing to evolve their sound while maintaining their signature energy and melodic sensibilities. Phantom Planet is comprised of Alex Greenwald, Sam Farrar, Darren Robinson, and Andrew Parker. Phantom Planet is no longer missing; they are ready to reclaim their position in the music industry.

REPRISE: Recreating Iconic Phish Shows

REPRISE is a band that formed to *reprise* the Phish experience, is an all-star New England band. Cal Kehoe, longtime frontman for Pink Talking Fish, helms the enterprise on guitar. Adrian Tramontano (Twiddle, Kung Fu and The Breakfast) masters the drums. Scott Chasolen chairman’s the boards for the project, bringing years of experience as a founding member of Ulu and keyboardist of The Machine, a Pink Floyd tribute. Multi-instrumentalist and composer Chris DeAngelis (The Machine, Kung Fu and The Breakfast) rounds out the foursome on bass. The time is near, the mission’s clear — get ready to blaze on with REPRISE!

Their neo-soul undertone provides a little something extra to their music and creates an infectious, addicting rhythm that you’ll be glad to have stuck in your head. Like James Brown, Sneezy turns in a killer show and leaves it all on the stage, every time. Küf Knotz (Producer/MC) and Christine Elise (Harpist/Vocalist) have brought their unique blend of hip-hop, soul and classical traditions to various communities. The unlikely pair connected and built a similar bond to creating positive, forward thinking music fusing boom bap era and lo-fi inspired beats supported by the harp. Their performance takes you on an era fusing, genre bending journey. And, you can dance to it. The duo has been featured on Sugar Shack Sessions & NPR Music.

Drawing influence from classic soul and roots rock genres, Shane has only just begun to craft his own retro flavored sound. Having self-produced two albums since 2022, a considerable buzz amongst industry and fans alike has been built – leading to millions of streams, multiple tours and festival appearances. Since the start of 2023, Shane and his band have toured relentlessly, opening up for acts such as The Heavy Heavy, Neal Francis, The Sheepdogs, The Wood Brothers, Black Joe Lewis, & The Stone Foxes as well as playing at major festivals such as Rhythm and Roots, Winnetka, and Alternating Currents. MICHAEL WILBUR – Michael Wilbur is a highly acclaimed American multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and vocalist, celebrated for his virtuosity on the Bass and Tenor Saxophones. Born in Brockton, MA, and currently based in Western Massachusetts, Michael’s musical journey began at the New School in New York City, where he co-founded the groundbreaking band Moon Hooch. Known for their unique blend of jazz, dance music, and experimental hip-hop, Moon Hooch quickly gained fame for their electrifying performances on New York City subway platforms before achieving international acclaim. In addition to his work with Moon Hooch, Michael Wilbur is a co-founder of Thundersmack, bringing his innovative sound to new heights. His solo projects showcase a broad range of genres, defying traditional musical boundaries and captivating audiences worldwide. Beyond his performance career, Michael is a dedicated vegan and environmental advocate, integrating his commitment to sustainability into his artistic endeavors. After spending more than a decade traveling the world together with the touring act Turkuaz, the members of Cool Cool Cool decided to team up and form their own band in 2022. Their shared experiences, from playing dive bars to international festival stages, helped them develop a close bond that goes far beyond music. In Cool Cool Cool, this bond translates into a powerful synergy that allows each band member to showcase their individual talents, creativity, and passion.

Cool Cool Cool toured the U.S. in 2024 both as a headlining act, as well as the supporting band for Talking Heads members Jerry Harrison and Adrian Belew (David Bowie, King Crimson) on their “Remain In Light” tour.

JOHNNY MULLENAX – Johnny Mullenax, a Tulsa native, grew up in a musical family. He started playing the guitar atage 5. In his teens, he followed his family to the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. In typical Johnny fashion, he showed up with just a guitar and ended up sleeping in a stand-up bass case. At 18, he used a friend’s ID to get into a club where he was part of a live hip hop band backing rappers. According to Johnny, “Life is too short to play one style of music, and if you have an opportunity to try something different then you should give it a shot.”

Claiming wide-ranging influences from AC/DC and The Ramones to John Coltrane and Parliament, Johnny calls his genre-bending sound a funky country bluegrass good time!

Before COVID, Johnny went out on the road with fellow Okie TJ McFarland (Tennessee Jet)and started connecting to a network of other touring musicians. He always wanted to start his own project, and after playing as a sideman for seven years with several bands, he finally took that leap.

GRIFFIN WILLIAM SHERRY – Griffin William Sherry, the Maine-born singer, songwriter, and guitarist, is known for his ability to craft stories that resonate deeply, whether they’re shared around a campfire or at a summer festival. After spending twelve years fronting The Ghost of Paul Revere, Griffin steps into the spotlight as a solo artist with his debut album, *Hundred Mile Wilderness*. His music, characterized by a powerful vocal delivery and no-frills instrumentation, delves into the joys and challenges of small-town life and the personal journey of self-discovery. Through songs filled with raw honesty and eloquent lyricism, Griffin continues to explore life’s big questions, inviting listeners to pause and appreciate the moment. Now, with a new chapter unfolding, he’s more determined than ever to tell his story in his own voice.
