The band noted, “The original version took up about a side and a half on vinyl so we decided to do something special for this one. We added 2 bonus songs, Kashyyyk and Put Your Face Away, which we recorded remotely in each of our home studios and are calling “2023 BONUS DEMOS”. (Both songs had been performed live in the early days of the band but never recorded until now)”

    Mapache
    with special guest Johnny Payne

Roscoe is a road dog. The 14-year-old Boston Terrier has been there for the whole ride of Mapache, Clay Finch and Sam Blasucci’s band, which has grown from being the casual project of two longtime buds to one of the most formidable cosmic-folk acts around. “Roscoe’s been through a lot,” says Blasucci, the dog’s formal owner. “He’s been all around the country, come on tour a little bit.” With some bemused pride, Finch points out that, for a few years, he and Blasucci bunked together in a room in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles that was just big enough to fit two twin beds. “It was the two of us and the dog,” he laughs.

Naturally, Roscoe has found himself the subject of a good handful of Mapache songs in the past—and on Roscoe’s Dream, the band’s third LP of originals, he takes center stage. (That’s him in quilt form on the album cover.) “I Love My Dog” opens up the album with a blissed-out stack of acoustic guitars and a lyrical explanation of one of Roscoe’s many talents: “I love my dog / Keepin’ the policeman out.”

Just as much an easygoing trip with Gram Parsons into the desert as a mad dash with the Grateful Dead away from the law, Roscoe’s Dream is the purest distillation yet of the distinct Mapache sound, which has been brewing for many years now. Finch and Blasucci first met as students at La Cañada High School, just north of Los Angeles: “There wasn’t much supervision or anything,” remembers Blasucci. “It was really nice. And we got to just play guitars together.”

The two stayed friends through their college years—Finch went to Chico State and Blasucci spent two years as a missionary in Mexico—and eventually they ended up back in L.A., spending their days playing guitar together once again, just like old times. Working with producer/engineer Dan Horne (Cass McCombs, Allah-Lahs), they recorded two albums of originals (2017’s Mapache and 2020’s From Liberty Street) as well an album of covers, 2021’s 3. Often trading solos, and occasionally switching from English to Spanish, Finch and Blasucci are now a well-oiled machine.

So when it came time to record Roscoe’s Dream, they didn’t mess with the formula. The band booked some time at Horne’s Lone Palm Studio and called in a handful of friends to play additional parts, including Farmer Dave Scher of Beachwood Sparks on melodica and lap steel on a couple tracks. The family affair has always been how the band likes to work, but this time they approached it on a grander scale than before, recording live as a full group in some cases, as opposed to working over Finch and Blasucci’s initial guitar/vocal parts. “It was a bit more of a band experience,” explains Finch.

The finished product is an ode to the past as well as a bridge forward. Covers of songs like Bo Diddley’s “Diana” and Gabby Pahinui’s “Kaua‘i Beauty” act as nods to heroes of theirs while originals like “Man and Woman” and “Pearl to the Swine” take the template of golden-age rock and lovingly deconstruct it in a modernist lens. “(They Don’t Know) At the Beach” was inspired by the idea of what trailblazing oldies DJ Art Laboe might like—but the gentle ripper of a song would fit right in at a backyard party in 2022.

Hard to imagine after years of being roommates, Finch and Blasucci are also bridging forward in new ways themselves. After the album was in the can, Finch decided to get a little closer to the water by moving to Malibu, and Blasucci moved about an hour north to Ojai with his girlfriend (and Roscoe, of course). But they’re not worried about the new distance slowing them down: “I think if anything it will be bringing more things to the table,” Blasucci considers. “We’re just expanding out in different directions.”

    Common Kings
    Road to Maui Tour
    with support from Jakobs Castle

Common Kings are more than a band of musicians, they are a family, a lifestyle, a community, a brother and sisterhood, having grown up together in California’s Orange County, four college mates who first met at a backyard barbecue 20-some years ago. Music was the common bond for these Pacific Islanders (all but one first-generation Americans) who have together transcended their Polynesian reggae roots to achieve pop crossover success since releasing their first music in 2011 – Samoan-born Hawaiian lead singer Sasualei “Jr. King” Maliga and Hawaii-raised Samoan guitarist Taumata “Mata” Grey; Fiji-born bassist Ivan “Uncle Lui” Kirimaua, and L.A.-born Tongan drummer Jerome “Big Rome” Taito. The band has toured with Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Meghan Trainor, Fifth Harmony and CeeLo as well as headlining their own shows and music festivals around the world.

Common Kings have been releasing music on their own Island Empire/Mensch House Records label for more than a decade, with their first full-length debut, 2017’s ‘Lost in Paradise’, nominated for Best Reggae Album at the GRAMMYs. The long-awaited follow-up, aptly named CELEBRATION, follows a series of five songwriting camps around the country (Miami, Hawaii, Orange County, Nashville, L.A.), winnowing down 120 songs to 12 over the course of almost two years during and after the pandemic. Common Kings’ island rhythms are as seductive as a lazy ocean breeze, with a narrative that is an All-American story with a tropical twist.

    Beauty School Dropout
    with Not A Toy

Beauty School Dropout is a Los Angeles based rock band comprised of Colie Hutzler, Beepus, and Bardo. Spearheaded by A&R Mark Hoppus under the new label Verswire with Pete Wentz and Sherry Saeedi, Beauty School Dropout have been turning heads since their debut in 2022.

BSD is this generation’s Motley Crue meets Red Hot Chili Peppers. Resurrecting heavy guitar
tones, charging drums, and sticky melodies, all while still staying true to the relatable and
timeless emotional lyrics we all love.

Since their inception, the band has claimed global attention, landing Tune Of The Week on
BBC Radio 1; and further support from Travis Mills, Jack Saunders, Daniel P Carter, New Music
Friday, New Noise, and an MTV FRESH OUT performance to name a few. They’ve been
championed by legendary tastemakers like NME, Alternative Press, Kerrang, Rock Sound,
    SPIN, Billboard, and many others.

Their debut album, ‘We Made Plans And God Laughed’ released in 2022, has garnered over
20+ million streams and counting and featured an amazing list of collaborative efforts including
the feature of Mark Hoppus in ‘Almost Famous.’ The creation of the album has seen the band
working with hit-making writers and producers such as Andrew Goldstein, All Time Low’s Alex
Gaskarth, Inverness, Slush Puppy, Ryan Follese, Nash Overstreet, and Dan Book.

The band kicked off this year with hit singles from the upcoming album ‘FREAK’ featuring
JXDN, ‘dying to be you’ and ‘beautiful waste’ in conjunction with a 36 date US tour and as
support for blink-182’s arena tour featuring the long-awaited return of Tom Delonge. This was
followed by a European tour with Maggie Lindemann and Stand Atlantic, a multi-festival summer
run across EU and US, and an opening slot for Matchbox Twenty in front of 16,000 fans,
solidifying Beauty School Dropout as true road warriors.

Rock For People Festival stated; “What an incredible show! These guys are going to go far!!”
Continuing their prolific run of success, BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT will release their
sophomore album ‘READY TO EAT’ on October 13th, 2023.

Mark Hoppus says of the band, “I’m always impressed by how hard these guys work, their talent
and uncompromising creativity, and their dedication to their fans.” And READY TO EAT is just
    another culmination of that.

    String Machine
    Raavi

The music of String Machine is rapturous and inviting. You’ll find an undeniable magic within each note,
a palpable energy owed in part to its creative process. Hallelujah Hell Yeah is an album of joy,
vulnerability, and forgiveness. Through this inventive indie rock, seven friends manage to transport you
to the bedrooms, basements, and home studios in which this was all created, conceptualized, and
    recorded.
This recording is the band’s representation of what it means to be grateful that one is alive, regardless of
whether that carpe diem spirit is sourced in optimism (“Hallelujah!”) or nihilism (“Hell Yeah!”). It’s a
powerful statement that rings especially poignant in such uncertain times.
String Machine isn’t shy about sharing their heart with you, and that confessional spirit continues on
Hallelujah Hell Yeah. “The album was inspired by moments of dealing with anxiety surrounding a lot of
personal stuff. Usually, my instinct when anxious is to keep myself busy. Writing songs was the middle
ground where I could solve inner-turmoils while feeling productive,” Beck said.
Reconnecting with journaling enabled Beck to let down his guard, and for that, Hallelujah Hell Yeah has
an uniquely spirited driving force. “This writing experience felt a lot more honest & confessional. Instead
of writing blurbs of nonsense & attaching meaning in a subconscious archetypal way, I tried to be more
deliberate about having purpose in what I sing/write,” he said. “Every song has a place. I’d write the music
and hum melodies until they were catchy enough to be stuck in my head. Putting the words to the music
this way was a lot different than what I’d done before.”
Each single stands as a snapshot. Opener “Places to Hide,” which finds liftoff in its twanging strings and
unexpected use of trumpet was written beachside in Ocean City, Maryland. “Touring In January'' was
written during a solo tour in the Poconos and uses keys, horns, and a bittersweet view of touring to
create a moment of emotive triumph. When it's all pieced together, you’ll feel as if you’re an
eighth member of String Machine, paying witness as a band reaches their fullest, glorious
    potential.
Since the release of Death of the Neon, String Machine has garnered praise from publications including
Pitchfork and GoldFlakePaint. They’ve played with acts including Ratboys, Wild Pink, Slaughter Beach
    Dog, Another Michael, and Mandancing.

JP Cooper has done the legwork. Ten years in bands in and around his hometown of Manchester, England. Multiple songs written on his own and with a variety of collaborators, a couple of which became global hits-that-will-not-die: Perfect Strangers with Jonas Blue and his own September Song, which is now sitting at some 600 million streams. An international solo career built on pure songcraft. And he’s done the business. The singer-songwriter’s 2017 debut album Raised Under Grey Skies has sold in old-fashioned numbers: one million copies at time of writing. His 11 million monthly Spotify listeners have contributed to a grand – very grand – total of four billion total streams.

    LaMP (Lawton, Metzger & Paczkowski)

On a magical night at Nectar’s in Burlington, VT in Dec of 2018, three musical masters (Russ Lawton, Scott Metzger & Ray Paczkowski) came together with alchemical synthesis, and created a fresh so-tight-it’s-free sound, packed with technical prowess and a deep-pocket punch. The packed house fortunate enough to be in attendance that night witnessed the birth of something very special.

The following spring, the trio took the name LaMP by combining the first letters of each members’ surname, and reconvened back in VT at Sugarhouse Soundworks for an intense recording session with Roger Stauss to lay down tracks that would become their eponymous debut EP.

“We wrote everything via the internet. We figured out telecommuting and working from home before it was fashionable [laughs]. We’d usually start with Russ sending around a drumbeat he was working on, then Ray and I would put down ideas and we’d send them back and forth, editing everything as we went along. When we finally found some time to record, I drove up to Vermont, we took a day to flush everything out and rehearse, then spent two days recording.” – Scott Metzger

Metzger, known as “…an ace guitarist of a thousand styles.” (Village Voice) and a full-time member of the critically acclaimed Joe Russo’s Almost Dead tested the decades-strong synergy of Ray & Russ forged from their time playing with Trey Anastasio Band and their duo project Soule Monde. The result was seven tracks crackling with energy and soul. The melodic & harmonic interplay between Paczkowski’s swirling organ and clavinet dancing with Metzger’s acrobatic melodies on telecaster, driven by Russ “It’s all about the rudiments.” Lawton’s unflappable backbeat produced a record that will stand the test of time.

    Marky Ramone’s Holiday Blitzkrieg
    Doing the Hits

Marky Ramone is best known for the 15 years he spent drumming for
the legendary Ramones. Prior to joining the Ramones, Marky played
with an array of influential musicians dating back to his high school
years when he was a member of the Brooklyn based hard rock band,
Dust. Recording two albums with his friends, Richie Wise (guitar and
vocals) and Kenny Aaronson (bass) for Neil Bogart’s Karma
    Sutra/Buddha label.
While Dust was disbanding, Marky began hanging out at Max’s Kansas
City, where he met Max’s house D.J. Wayne County. He joined forces
with Wayne to form Wayne County and The Backstreet Boys. Wayne’s
outrageous stage performance and cross-dressing attracted many fans
and help solidify a cult following. After a year and a half of playing in
the New York area and not able to generate record company interest,
they decided it was best to move on.
In 1976, Marky was introduced to Richard Hell. Along with Bob Quine
and Ivan Julian, they formed Richard Hell & the Voidoids. The Voidoids
released their groundbreaking debut album in 1977 on Sire Records,
entitled “Blank Generation”. Shortly after the Voidoids historic U.K.
tour with The Clash, Marky found himself at the bar at CBGB with Dee
Dee Ramone. Dee Dee asked him if he would be interested in joining
    The Ramones.
The spring of 1978, Marky joined the Ramones. In a matter of weeks
he was in the studio recording his first album with The Ramones
entitled, “Road to Ruin”, which features one of the biggest Ramones
songs “I Wanna Be Sedated”. The following year the Ramones filmed
the cult classic “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School”. Later that year, they joined
forces with producer legend, Phil Spector to record “End Of The
    Century”.
After several tours and a two more studio albums, Marky was asked to
leave the band 1983, only to rejoin his band mates in 1987 until they
decided to call it quits in 1996. His tenure with the Ramones spanned
a total of 15 years. Performing over 1700 shows and more than 15
releases, including songwriting credits on both Mondo Bizarro and
Adios Amigos, the bands farewell release.
In 2000, Marky reunited with long time friend Joey Ramone for Joey’s
solo effort “Don’t Worry About Me”. In 2001, Marky along with his
former band mates (Johnny, Dee Dee and Tommy), were inducted into
the Rock ‘N’ Roll Hall of Fame. That same year, U2’s Bono presented
the Ramones with the MTV’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
The DVD release, “Raw”, a compilation of mostly home videos filmed
predominantly by Marky was release in 2004 and entered the Billboard
video chart at number 5. Certified gold in three countries and currently
the best selling Ramones DVD release to date.
In the spring of 2009, Marky launched a capsule collection clothing line
with Hilfiger Denim. In 2010, Marky shared his recipe for pasta sauce
by introducing Marky Ramone’s Brooklyn’s Own Pasta Sauce.
In February 2010 The Ramones received a Grammy Lifetime
Achievement Award. It was the first Grammy for the punk rock
    pioneers.
In early 2010 Marky Ramones Blitzkrieg with Michale Graves released
their first single “When We Were Angels” with former member of Sheer
Terror, Mark Neuman, playing bass and guitar.
With no signs of slowing down, Marky Ramone continues to tour the
world with his band, Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg, featuring various lead
vocalists including Andrew W.K. and Michale Graves.
Marky is currently in his eighth year as a D.J. on SiriusXM Satelldite
Radio hosing “Marky Ramone’s Punk Rock Blitzkrieg”. Marky has also
appeared on numerous TV shows including The Simpsons, Anthony
    Bourdain’s No Reservations and ZRock.

On the topic he’s said, “to be a guest artist on the same show that I play for on a nightly basis was a dream come true.”
