Want to take a day trip? Or maybe stay a few nights and get to know us better? The Asbury Park Boardwalk is easy to get to from all points north, south and west (we’re talkin’ to you, New York, DC and Philly) and everywhere in between.

From the North
New Jersey Turnpike south to Exit 11, then south on the Garden State Parkway to Exit 102. Bear right off the exit ramp onto Asbury Ave. and continue heading east all the way to the ocean, following the signs to Asbury Park. When you reach the ocean, bear left onto Ocean Ave. The boardwalk begins on your right and continues north for about a 1/2 mile.

From the South
Garden State Parkway north to Exit 100A. Bear east on Route 66 and continue heading east all the way to the ocean, following the signs to Asbury Park. When you reach the ocean, bear left onto Ocean Ave. The boardwalk begins on your right and continues north for about a 1/2 mile.

Parking

Metered parking is available on-street. There are and also 4 nearby pay-to-park lots.

How parking meters work in Asbury Park:
Paid metered parking is now in effect in all Municipal Parking Lots including: the City Hall Lot, the Transportation Center Parking Lot, and the Memorial Drive Parking Lot. The rates for these lots are $1 per hour on Monday – Friday from 5pm – 12am, and $10 per day on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays from 9am – 12am.

  1. Cash – $1 bills, $5 or $10 bills or Coins. No change given.
  2. Debit Cards. Credit cards – MasterCard, Visa or Discover Card only. No fee or surcharge.
  3. Via mobile phone using the mPay2park app

After you have paid at the meter machines, please keep your receipt (no need to take back your car).
You may use ANY meter machine to buy or add time. Just remember your space number!

Purchase daily beach badges at parking meters:
Save time. Visitors to Asbury Park beaches who pay for their daily beach badge at any of the city’s parking meters can now trade in the printed slips issued at the meter for badges with any of the city’s beach badge checkers. Method of payment: cash, credit card or debit card.
