Grand Opening planned for McLoone’s Asbury Grille on March 9th – 11th

Posted on: 03/07/2010

At McLoone's Asbury Grille, located in the iconic Howard Johnson's building on the boardwalk in Asbury Park, the motto has become "New Year - New Look - New Menu".  They are ready to showcase all of the aforementioned with a Grand Opening Celebration planned for March 9th - 11th.    During the celebration days, guests will be treated to fifty percent off their lunch or dinner purchases.

When the redevelopment of the Asbury Park boardwalk began in 2008, local restaurateur Tim McLoone was the first to sign on taking over what was then called Salt Water Beach Café.   Now, as they enter their second year of successful operation, McLoone felt it was time to put his own signature style on the operation.    A new, casual menu with an emphasis on specialty burgers and grill items has been introduced.   In the warmer months, the expanded outside dining area is already a popular location.   Now, with the addition of a cozy fireplace, McLoone's Asbury Grille has become a favorite spot for guests to spend their time warming up while still enjoying the breathtaking views of the beach and the activity on the boardwalk.   A weekday Happy Hour and weekend entertainment add to the appeal.

In May of 2009, after reading that The Asbury Park Mounted Police Unit was in need of funds to help secure the future of their service, Tim McLoone championed the cause.   He first hosted a fundraiser in Tim McLoone's Supper Club, located above McLoone's Asbury Grille.   And then to continue the effort, he pledged to donate a total of $10,000 to the cause through future sales at these locations.   Today you can find "Crabcakes for a Cause" on the menu at McLoone's Asbury Grille (as well as at The Supper Club).   Each time an order of Crabcakes is purchased $1.00 is donated to The Asbury Park Mounted Police Unit.    The police presented Tim Mcloone with a beautiful framed photo of the officers on their horses in front of the restaurant.   It is proudly displayed along with a plaque that reads, "Your patronage of McLoone's allows us to support The Asbury Park Mounted Police".

McLoone's Asbury Grille (www.mcloonesasburygrille.com) is located at 1200 Ocean Avenue (on the boardwalk) in Asbury Park NJ.   It is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.   Although reservations are not required, they can be made by calling 732-774-1400.
