RIVER CITY EXTENSION TO PLAY LANGOSTA LOUNGE
ASBURY PARK (Feb. 22, 2010) – Langosta Lounge, an oceanfront restaurant and bar, announced its plans to host the River City Extension on Friday, March 12 at 10 p.m. The free, live performance will feature songs from the local band’s yet-to-be released album, “The Unmistakable Man”, as well as songs from the band’s 2009 release “Nautical Sabbatical”.
Hailing from Toms River, NJ, The River City Extension is known for its unique approach and raw, mixed-genre compositions.Steered by lead-singer Joe Michelini, the band has opened for acclaimed musical acts such as Cake, The Avett Brothers, Robert Randolph and Nicole Atkins.Their originality credits them with a strong local following, as well as a fan base that spans the Northeast, and positions them as forerunners in Asbury Park’s musical renaissance.
The River City Extension is an eight-man band that blends orchestral strings with folk beats, punk-rock roots and soul rhythm.Critics have likened them to Modest Mouse and Arcade Fire.Their one-of-a-kind sound and dedication recently awarded them an XOXO record label and a summer world tour.“The Unmistakable Man”, the band’s second album, will be released this May.
The River City Extension will take the stage of Langosta Lounge on Friday, March 12, at 10 p.m.The special, free performance will mark the band’s first appearance at the intimate, oceanfront restaurant and bar.
